Living By Values

Being at the end of my first semester in graduate classes has really encouraged me to think about the important things in life. We all get caught up in the rush of making it through today (or this week, or this semester) that we forget to live by our goals and our values. This blog is intended to give readers more to think about so that they can become self-aware and lead fuller lives. Beginning, I'd like to make a list of values we aim to live by. Put this list somewhere prominent. Make sure you see it and make it an effort each day to align your actions (and thoughts) with this list. What small steps can you take today to align with your values?

My Values:
Family
Acceptance
Health
Helping those less fortuante
Learning about myself
Happiness

My small step for today: smiling at least 20 times.

What are your small steps? Your tasks? Where did your values come from? Are they the same as they were five years ago?

Introductions

Hello! This blog is about empowering people to make better use of their time on the planet by knowing themselves better and living purposefully. We often float through life like zombies and don't really live- we just exist. This blog is meant to encourage and help you to do more than that. You only get about 80 years (and that's if you're lucky and take care of your body)- use them well.

I'll be posting topics that require self-reflection and foster improvement. Please feel free to respond as you see fit. One of the beautiful things about the internet is that we can encourage each other and share in the human experience.

I'll also be posting crafts and recipes that I come across as well as my own goals, discoveries and thoughts. After all, a major part of living a full life is enjoying your hobbies :)

Enjoy! I hope the postings here encourage your own growth and foster your spirit.
